The Nautica is one of the ships that Oceania Cruises renovated from its original owners-Renaissance Cruises. There are only approximately 680 passengers onboard four of their ships. Attention to detail is important to Oceania and the repeat clients who readily sail onboard their ships. Gourmet dining is what you hear most about and it is absolutely true-specialty menus, food presentation, variety and excellent tastes! You will not be dissapointed with dining whether in the main dining room or any of the specialty restaurants including the evening buffet. The staff is friendly and remembers who you are and what you like within a short period of time.
We loved the itinerary on our journey, but cabin size (because this ship is older) is smaller than most newer ocean-going ships. We were surprised that after the evening show (930pm-1030pm) the ship was relatively quiet. Most of the passengers went to their cabins rather than participate in additional activity at night. Cambodia, Viet Nam, Hong Kong, and Shanghai did not disappoint!
Well…we were at sea and loving it!
Fred and Elena Pelsinger owners of Katy Van Travel, Inc. were privileged to sail on the brand new Carnival Vista during its inaugural season in Europe. We sailed July 19th 2016 on a 10 day voyage Athens, Greece to Barcelona, Spain. The ports of call were Rhodes, Greece; Valletta, Malta; Messina, Sicily; Naples, Italy; Rome, Italy; Livorno, Italy; Marseilles, France and Barcelona, Spain. Wow!!! We really enjoyed and had the opportunity to visit sights that we had not seen before and eat…Did I mention we ate our way through each port? There was great food in every port and plenty of restaurants to recommend to our clients. We were able to participate in so many exciting sightseeing tours to fill the days and have the photos to capture our experiences for you to see.
The Carnival Vista was a destination in itself. The Water Park was packed with adults and kids enjoying the days at Sea and the SkyRide (bike ride in the sky) and the SkyCourse (ropes course challenge) were just amazing. Plenty of action everywhere you looked. Did I mention Dive-In Movies, IMAX Theater or the Video Arcade? You couldn’t be bored onboard the Carnival Vista. We loved ‘The Punchliner Comedy Club’ where each night there were two family comedy shows and two ‘R-Rated’ shows to please every attendee.
Food…Well with all the great food in the dining room and specialty restaurants aplenty…you couldn’t go wrong. Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse is absolutely wonderful. Ji Ji Asian Kitchen, Cucina del Capitano, Bonsai Sushi, BlueIguana Cantina, Guy’s Burger Joint and more are enough for any cruiser to love including a 24 hour Pizzeria del Capitano.
Call me for more details as my mouth is watering just thinking about our cruise and planning to go again on the high seas…
